2005 Tundra Remote start?
Hi all,
I know this is mainly a 4runner forum, but figured I would see what ideas came up here.
One of the biggest things I miss about my 4runner is the remote start (I've only been without it for about a month, lol) I Currently have an 05 Tundra that I want to install a remote starter in.
I don't need an alarm/keyless entry, I just want to somehow activate the remote start with the stock remote. I can disable the OEM alarm by grounding the "key sense" switch. I thought about using the door locks to pulse the remote start, but now having second thoughts. If I did use the keyless entry to pulse the RS, how would I prevent the actual door lock buttons on the door panels from activating the remote start? I don't want to be driving with passengers, and one of them decides to play with the door locks, which in turn activates the remote start (I am not sure what would happen if you activate the remote start while driving)
Any ideas would be great!!!
Also any suggestions on the remote start model I should use would be great! I don't need anything special, my truck already has anti-grind built in from the factory, I will be using my stock remotes somehow, so I don't need 2 way remotes or anything special like that.
