Winch
I have bin really considering a winch among all my other mods that i have planned. What size winch would i need for a 1988 4runner, 35's. Also what type of electrical setup do i have to have because i know you cant just run it off your battery. Are there any good brands besides Warn?

Found this is the Off Road Tech section

Lotta good threads in there.
And yes, you can run any winch off of your battery.
Just leave the engine running when winching.
I have had a winch since 2/2002 and never had a problem with the battery.
Mine is wired directly to the factory battery on my new rig too.

Just got an 8000 pounder Warn for $505 shipped from Winch Depot. If $$ was not my limitation, I would've gone with a HS9500 (not the integrated model because I've got an ARB bumper).
You'll never regret buying one.
