Who has a...

Dash camera?

I've been rackin' my noggin for a way to mount my little Canon ZR80 so I could record some of my adventures.

I can't seem to come up with a good and easy way, any ideas?

My first thought was to remove the dash, put two bolts in and secure them to the dash.. then make a lil fiberglass cubby for the camera, that I could slide over the bolts and secure it with nuts.... but that's not exactly easy.

Mount it solid, like on or in the dash like you're thinking, and the video will be unwatchable.
You need to mount it and isolate for all/most vibrations.

I made one that mounted to the two bars that mount the headrest to the driver seat. The camera sat right between the driver and passenger headrests. I really liked the shot from the camera, it showed everything outside the windshield and the gauge cluster in the lower left hand side of the shot.

This was for my drag racing car, but I could do the same thing for my 4runner.

Well I would be able to remove the "cubby" and the camera from said "cubby"

Bring a friend with you that has a steady hand?

Or.. Duct tape and some foam under the camera? Sure its ghetto but it works .

There's two holes behind each head rest so I screwed in an L bracket in each one and set a 2x4 ontop and screwed that down, securing the camera with velcro.

Figures, the day I do this I almost lose control and almost go over a sand bank and into some trees, lmfao... I got it on tape too, me over correcting around a turn... then wham, lol.... But my computers being lame and letting me capture the video.. I'll figure it out later.

I used a ratchet strap and the tripod for the camera and strpped it down to the passanger seat... 2 legs on the floor and one on the seat. But I like the headrest idea... Gonna work on that one soon...
