What is more important droop or uptravel
#25
Uptravel is important when you are trying to "soak" up a bump. Referring to previous posts, that 50/50 droop to uptravel ratio works well for prerunners that aren't depending on droop to go through something like the Golden Crack. It is all application based how we rank the 2 in importance.
I know this because of this great thread

finally I make a useful thread.
Not sticky status. But I am happy.
I am surprised there really isn't a thread on here like this as well. But then again if droop is somewhat more important in crawling applications and since there isn't many prerunner guys on here, I can see how that would happen.

I know what you mean. I like Yotatech's "feel" a lot better than the other sites more dedicated to prerunning. There is still a wealth of info on here for people like me when members like PismoJoe post their experiences.

personally I am more of a prerunner and SCORE guy, but it's so much fun to crawl as well. But not too many places out here to "prerun" anyway.
Maybe one day I will have a crawler and a prerunner. hehe.

All the 'droop' points stated so far are completely accurate so i wont be redundant.
Althought got another one =) Even if the unsprung tire is still touching the ground theres still some weight on the tire and is still providing more traction than if it were completely in the air.
Having gone from IFS to solid axle the improvement overall is undeniable. It just does more and I feel a helluva lot safer doing it.
