Well, when I was 16 I actually wanted a k-5. But my dad bought a "kids car" which was a 86 runner 4banger auto. I didnt like it at first. The first time I drove it I thought it was broke bc it was so slow!!......

Then it grew on me. I bought it off of my dad to keep it from going to my brother when he turned 16. eventually sold that one, then bought a 90, then it got totalled. I then bought my current 92 runner. Since the 92 is geting pretty rediculous I bought a 88 v6 5spd soft top, and I love it.

I have rubbed off on everyone i know though. (EVERY WIFE I KNOW HATES ME. If I had a dollar for everytime I heard "so your John, the reason my husbands toyota is now torn apart, or built beyond a good street vehicle" Id have....about 20 dollars ) )

I will always a Toyota.

ive always loved toyotas, its in my blood, thats why me my mom and my brother all have toyotas. As for how did i end up with the yoter. I was looking at a second gen runner, a 4wd with the 3.0. I told my best friend about it and he went and had his dad buy it for him. He then wasted his savings on a lift, and a month later the head gasket blew. , I bought my truck a week after he got his, and i havent had to do any major repairs . just tie rod ends, 2 clutches, tir rod ends, a new set of tires, belts, oil changes, and new master and slave cylinders for the clutch. Just maintenence lol.

first of all id like to say that truck from back to the future is amazing! haha, no but my mom had a 93 runner that i loved and my dad had an 87 SR5 runner that i absolutly was in love with, he had it for most of my life and it had 330,000 on the motor (22re) when he sold it and was still running strong, so i knew they were reliable.. which was why i bought one for my first car/truck..

i guess i have mixed feelings about car manufacturers, but i like toyota and chevy the best, i wish they were both one company, i have a lot of respect for toyota 4 cylinders and diesels, for being nearly the most bomb proof motors on earth, i like chevy since parts are really easy to come by and everything bolts up, and theyre easy to work on. my point is i really have no favorite, i went with toyota because of reliability, which ive had, but i can say i have had horrible experience with service and getting parts for cheap, my 2.7 has been good for what it is, but it can be frustrating to deal with

i had to get a truck that i could use for work and have fun with. i chose toyota based on the reliability that other people were having with them. I wanted something cheap that I could maintain too. I also bought a toyota because parts are really easy to find here (except chrome mirrors i guess)

I started noticing Toyota trucks while I was in HS in the mid '80s (also loved the BTTF one) and loved the look of those years of pickups and Runners. My friend got a very customized '87 22RE PU that had just a mild lift and big tires and that thing went anywhere we took it and I knew eventually I'd own a Toyota.

After I spent the '90s drag racing with a hopped up Eclipse I figured I needed something a little costly to own and figured off roading would be fun to do again and I scoured the classifieds and drove 4 Tacomas before I knew I needed more practicality for passengers and such and settled on a 3rd gen Runner partly due to my experiences with my mom's '99 Limited and I loved driving hers.

So,here I am.

Toyota all the way!

My first truck was a 1992 ext. 4x4 I had it on a 3 inch body lift with some 33's. I turned that truck over twice once on each side while 4wheeling. I had weld up nerf bars so we pretty mutch just hooked a chain to it and got it back on its wheels both times. I replaced the hood twice both doors, both sides of the bed, two front quarter panels, two tail gates, and every glass in it exept the back one. Then I was in a really bad motorcycle accident and my wife total lossed it while I was in the hospital. I was in the hospital for about a month, in a coma the whole deal but thank GOD I seem to be fine. I bought another yota for old times sake same color and everything. It's got 31's on it now, but I want to go with a 4 or 5 inch suspension lift with some 33's and a locker. I'll keep you guys posted with the progress of the truck plus I'm sure I'll have a few questions if I get stuck on something. This board Is great Toyota all the way!!!!!
