What do you tow w/ your yota?

Whats up folks! Thought I would throw out a thread on what people are towing with their TOYOTA's these days. I realize that some of the 4Runners aren't the best overall tow machines, w/ the V6 and 5,000 lb. limit, but they can still produce.

I tow a 19' Chaparral, probably around 3200 lbs. w/ trailer. I will say that my HD OME rear setup has helped a bunch!

So what does everyone else have behid their rigs?

I tow a pair of 770cc Arctic Cat jet skis on a single trailer with my 22RE on 33's. I'm not sure how much total weight it is but I would guess around 1000 pounds. It does fine except on big hills I have to downshift to 4th. I put it in 4-low and leave the front hubs unlocked to have more power down low when pulling them up the boat ramp. It's tricky with a stick because as soon as I let my foot off the brake to hit the gas I start rolling back down the ramp into the river FAST.

I tow a big trailer full of 6 aluminium canoes. I'm not sure how much it weighs, but I rarely put it in 5th on the highway.

I tow a 18 foot Shadow Cruiser - around 3,700 fully loaded with water and supplies. After spending $$ on S/C and all the fixin's, the 4Runner does ok but I definitely would not want to go heavier.

I have to admit, I've been so tempted to get a 1 ton diesel and modify the hell out of it (I could then move up to a nice 5th wheel) but the 4Runner is like a member of the family.

I know exactly what you mean! I usually tow my boat in the mountains of NC and have often thought about upgrading to a bigger V8. BUT, I can't give up my 4Runner either!

I tow a full car trailer with a drag race crx (prob 2800 lbs with trailer). not TOO heavy but damn it wastes even more gas!! i'm already at 12mpg... but i'm not sure thats very accurate since my speedo is about 10mph off. (says 30 but really going about 37mph)

Nothing, I use the Ranger, Sonoma, or Landcruiser for all towing needs.

I tow an MR2 Figure8 race car. Trailer weighs about 1700, car weighs about 2500. All with my poor 4cyl 1986 5sp. Doesn't like to stop very well though.

I pull my 1980 pickup trail rig on a 21ft featherlite or 16ft opendeck.

I just towed a 89 240sx from Augusta, GA to Newnan, GA. It's about 200 miles both ways. Mine is a 2000 5VZFE 2wd, the runner took it like a champ.

Just a joke, but the topic was aimed towards all Toyotas, so I wondered if you had a Ford Landcruiser or something rare.
