Today i installed a aux cigarette lighter and the thing that you plug into it that turns 1 into 2 and put it behind the driver side air vent to charge my gps and itouch so the wires going all over the place...

Everything worked and fit perfectly it was a very clean install but now whenever i am driving a constant whine comes from the speakers and speeds up and down with the engine RPMs what could be the problem??

its really not that loud but little things like that bug the crap out of me and i have to fix it

does it stop if you unplug the aux cig lighter? Do you have your wiring touching your sterio wires?

 

well strangely it just stopped and isn't making the sound anymore but thanks anyway

 

i take it back it is making the sound again im almost positive it will stop if i unplug the cig. lighter and there is a possibility that it is touching the stereo wires that go to the driver side front speaker should i just move it and see if it stops?

would it have anytihng to do with the ground?

 

Do you have an ipod or something plugged into the cig lighter? Maybe somehow your picking up a noisy circuit through there...

 

i do but its just a charger wire no sound is going through it... the other socket is used to charge my gps
