vin check

i'm looking to check a VIN for vehicle history. anyone know of a website that does FREE VIN checks? something along the lines of carfax, except for free?

and while i'm at it, what do you think about a 93 4runner, 3.0 auto, perfect condition, 115k, $4500 OBO? i was kinda hoping for a 3rd gen, but i realized with student loans, i can't afford one yet.

Not sure if anyone does "free" checks, mostly you can get a free report with a "flag" if something is uncovered, then you have to pay to see the "flag".
A good site to find car values is http://www.edmunds.com/
look under the true market value (TMV) for your zip code.

I don't know of one, but I"m looking for the same. Let me know if you find one and I'll do the same.

Good luck.
