I use mine all the time, but coming from an area that has constant rain especially in the winter we know to only use that is conditions that you have excellent traction.

Even if this story is false it doesn't make sense to use your cruise control when you have a high ability to lose traction.... Because if you do, you are allowing a computer to control your car(which doesn't care about loss of traction), instead of making the decisions as needed and not going "oh no! my car didn't let off the gas like it should have"

Those of us who live in the snowy / icy areas know not to use CC unless you're on a dry stretch of highway. =)
