Wink The Turd turns 200!

... 200,000 miles that is.

Its kinda hard to see but it says 200099.4 on the odometer. It turned over on the way back home from skiing yesterday. To celebrate I bought it a tank of 91 octane, kinda like a fancy birthday dinner for a truck.

About 67,000 of those miles were since I bought it. Its been very good to me and I love every minute behind the wheel or turning wrenches on it. I'm hopeing to get another 100,000 out of it.

Here's a toast to my tired old iron.

Congrats on 200K.. it's a toyota so there should be no doubt that it made to 200k and is still running like a champ.

Hope mine makes it past 200K (111600+ and counting on mine)

Congrats again

Gratz on your trucks mileage.

I've owned 3 Toyotas prior to my 4Runner (which makes #4) and put over 250,000 on each of them. I expect to put at least that on this truck. I'm currently around 61,000.

Good luck!

My bro has 274,000 on his 89 and the new (used 88) truck my youngest bro just got has 171,000 now. Both are daily drivers and run great. The valves are noisy on both but what the hell.

Yea Baby

Way to go. If you give it 91 octane, it might get indigestion like eating a rich meal. Just burp it.

I'm hoping for 250K out of mine before I drop a 3.4 in there (with the S/C of course )

There is a guy with 2 million miles on a Volvo. There are lots of sites with it. Just search for million mile volvo or similar on google. One site said he had an engine rebuild at 675,000 or something like that and doesn't mention another. Large trucks must run more than that, but he is supposedly in the Guinness book for highest certified mileage by original owner of a non-commercial vehicle.

I shot a picture to this site hoping they will include me.
I'm attaching the pic I sent. Not some parking lot pose, I sent them a hardcore pic.

Hinkley- Give the turd a wax job and it will look brand new. Except for the Az. boulder damage. Later!

That's funny, my service tech (fishing buddy) calls my '86 4runner the "Blue Turd". I recently went over the 200k mark myself as well. Congrats!

I visited my father's uncle up in Indiana during the summer and hes got a 1977 Ford Pickup truck. He bought the rig brand new and has got over a million miles on it. He has been a mechanic his entire life and retired about 5 years ago and has never taken the rig to a shop. Funniest thing about it, Ford offered him a new F-150 to trade for it when it hit one million last year and he turned it down. His reason being that the '77 would outlast the new '01.

My odometer locked up at 170,000 miles.. so I have no clue how many miles are on the chassis. I do not my rebuilt motor from orient only has 3,500 miles on it... So I should have a lot of life left in my runner.
