towing a 4runner w/ a 4runner

I am trying to move an 87 4runner a little over 225 miles. I figured i would just use my 91 4runner with a dolly and take it back home. i know uhaul rents them out , but they say that i cant do it cause the vehicles weigh the same. they require that the towing vehicle be 750lbs heavier. Are their other ways to move a vehicle myself i.e. towing w. all 4 tires on ground.
Im looking for something low cost also. both vehicles are 4wd. I have a class 3 hitch on the 91.

I was under the impression that the second gens were quite a bit heavier

For some reason I just don't think the 3.slow would take to that too well. I know that in TN they don't rent those tow bars where all 4wheels stay on the ground and you just pull anymore. I don't know how much those car dollies weigh, but you're 1st gen should be no more than 3500 unless you've got alot of junk on it or huge tires. Calculate the weights and see what the owners manual says. YOu might be able to use a weight distributing hitch and it work.

im thinking of not telling the full truth, telling uhaul that i am towing a camry or something with less weight. im sure my 4runner is heavier so i dont see any problem. he said the 4runner will fit on the trailer, so the only thing limiting me would be my vehicle weight of 4800 GVWR.
