Things you found bad/wrong after dealership or repairshop job.

Ive put a large amount of miles on my 4R and as long as things worked I didnt fix it, But things go bad and still keep running or just cause how it runs to deteeriorate.

Last year I knew my waterpump was about to start going bad and sure enough there was a water drip in the front, Great time to get the timing belt done as well.
So off to the local dealership.
I asked for timingbelt, waterpump, Tune up and look for anything else that needs replacing.
I got a call later saying my tentioner was bad "Replace it", Call later idler pully needs replacing "Replace it", Then another call saying the waterpump was bad, I told them "Thats why I origanaly brought it in" responds "Oh?".
Last call was to pick it up.
Now I know they replaced plugs and wires but not the cap and rotor.
It ran a little better but the idle was always at 1200 and the timing was about 35+ deg advanced, I tried to ask them why but they were really busy and didnt want to wait.
Well since finding this website at the beginning of the year I have found alot of info.
Ive found that,
The throttlebody ports are all plugged.
The TPS was off ALOT.
The TB ISR connecter was cracked.
The PCV was plugged and the hose so old and hard it crumbled when I tried
to replace the PCV.
The AS VSV was plugged
The EGR VSV was plugged
The Fuel Pressure relief valve was weak.
How can a dealer repairbay miss so much and think its tune correctly if idle and timing so far off, Normaly you think they would call and want to replace everything even if its good to make the buck or maybe it was so I would have failure and have to bring it back again.

Have you had this happen to you?

I took my runner in to get my a/c fixed awhile back to a local shop. It was blowing warm air. they told me that my compresser was bad at a cost of $1000. Did not believe them so I took it else where and found out that the shrader valve was clogged and that the expansion valve was bad. They did the 134 conversion. Was out about $650 instead of $1000.
