Talk me into adjusting my valves.
So I'm in the middle of the head gasket job on my 3vze. Cams arn't in yet. The machine shop shaved a bit off of the heads. I didn't get thicker head gaskets.
Why should I adjust the valves? What is it changing? The distance between the cam and the valve right? So if it was good before why should I change it?
The 3vze has those damn pucks that sit on top of the valve, so am I supposed to measure them all and take the cam out again to replace them all, then do it all over again?
I am getting impatient right now. I know I could have this running this weekend. Someone calm me down.

Just take a deep breath - It'll be alright
Since you have the heads off - it would not be a bad idea to at least check the clearances - and if the lifters are in spec - don't worry about it.
If there are only a couple lifters that are out of spec, just replace those. Heck, you might even be able to swap around the lifter shims you have and not have to order shims.
You shouldn't have to take the cam off to do the lifters - it would be a little easier than using the SST - but not worth the time IMO...
