If the rain doesn't stop soon we might need to plow the rain. (picturing BIG squeegee on the front going down the highway)

There's been a good bit of posting about NOT mounting a plow on a 4Runner, mainly the frame being too light and tearing it up. Do a search.

the initial outlay for the equipment, insurance etc. youll need as well as for the repairs, far out weighs the income you will be able to generate to recoup your investment.

Correct, from what I been told by many snowplow owners it has messed up the front suspension bad. I now a guy who has bent the frame on his Taco using a plow. It would seem the toy frames can't take it, with the exception of the T100 that is I have seen many T100s with plows on them.

Dead wrong. I had a commercial snow plow on mine for 5 years and on my 85 toy truck for 3 years before that. I plowed snow commercially for a living for 8 years. The frame is plenty strong. I plowed a lot of snow and was not gentle at all. I was always going fast and sometimes there were very sudden stops when you hit something. My frame is still perfect.

You just need to be sure to have the plow set up right. Don't have your tension springs too tight. So when you do catch the edge the plow will tip up and over it. Also haveing a floating plow is a good idea - yah there are time when you would want it to be a power down and lock but you can cause more damage that way. I had a "Western" plow.

Never any problems, the clutch was strong enough to havdle it as well. Never did get stuck either. I was the first one in Calgary to do it on the toyota truck and the first one to do it on a 4 runner. Now there are a couple of the toyota trucks running around with them. I was able to plow a lot often quicker due to the better mobility of the truck.

If you're bending your frame, then you're being way too tough on the truck. I've seen quite a few Toyota trucks in our area with plows. Mine has one as well. They meneuver very well and make excellent plow trucks for driveways and small parking lots. I'm not sure I would use it for large parking lots or plowing for the state or anything but they do work quite well as long as you know what you're doing and try not to beat the truck too much.
