I live in Ohio now for school, but I drove this rig in Utah, where I am from, and hope to find work back west when I am all done. So these really are to use, not just for looks. I want them to last a while and the POR looks like it is what I am looking for. Thanks, 4Crawler for all your help.

So I was thinking about how the POR-15 is really meant to paint on rust or at least a surface that has been exposed for a few weeks. I am thinking about just welding on the sliders and bolting on the skid to let them "weather" a bit. Does this sound like the right thing to do? I still plan on following the POR-15 guidelines for brush painting these later using the Marine Clean and Metal Ready anyways. Thanks, D

I have a quote to have mine done for $150. I originally painted mine a couple of years ago. The sand and gravel takes its' toll on the cross members and undersides. Faint rust is showing. I no longer have access to a garage to paint and it will not be warm enough outside for months. My truck is neither for the mall crawl or the rock crawl. Loaded down for camping and trail running the sliders are there just in case. I might go for it...
