SFA Colour

Well I have my 83 axle all rebuild and ready to hang but i am faced with the decision of paint colour. Everybody paints their running gear black wich honestly looks the best. I am currently helping my freind put fullsize running gear in his ranger and he painted his orange wich looks pretty cool. I know it will just get dirty and beat up but i felt like something different. Any ideas or possibly pics of your SFA would be awsome. And i have a 88 4runner that is all white and black already. I know with some tacky colour it will look weird but i want it.

Thanks, Justin

Do you have any other accent colors on the truck already? Do you have shock boots? What color are they? Might be a thought. Red or Orange, with strips over the truck too?

I recommend just black. Trucks with obnoxiously bright running gear usually look awfully tacky in my opinion.

I tend to agree. but if you want to go with a different color, go dark, not bright/light. dark blue or dark red would look nice..

Don't know about anyone else, but weird colors under a truck scream poseur out here. Maybe things are different where you are.

Sort of says that the driver is really insecure that people won't see the axles and stuff, and needs people to recognize that their truck is cooler than everyone else's. Let your driving speak for itself.

Not trying to be offensive, just offering an opinion.

Very true! But I'd have no problem seeing someone wheel a truck that is done up nice. lol As long as it's not a street princess, it's cool.

I think black looks appropriate on a trail truck & red, yellow or Chevy orange look good on muscle cars. Barbie pink looked good on the Barbie Corvette my daughters had when they were little....might be worth a shot.

just think what color really looks good under neath your truck. like if i had a SFA on my Surf, i think i would go with Navy Blue or Midnight Blue only because it goes with the Metallic Green of my Surf. Some people may not like it, but are you only painting it to impress other people or do something that you like?

Haha, i know it looks tacky and will get all dirty anyways. Black is the most suitable colour seeing how my runner is all black and white anyways. Every Toyota in my 4x4 group has black running gear so i just wanted something a little different. Actaully i think ive never even seen a vehicle in real life with anything but black running gear. The IFS lift i had was dark blue tabs though and it looked ok. Ill post some pics of it under my truck when im done and you can chirp it then haha
