And the replacement for the totalled 2nd gen is..
... a 98 Limited with 128k.
Pretty good deal but no stock locker but at the price, I had to take it.
That kinda Burgandy color with Tan interior. Very, very clean.
Two minor issues :
1. Smells of cigarette smoke inside so it will get Febreezed this week
2. It sems to have the BLING edition GOLD emblem package and that will
have to go.
Pics to follow when I have removed the emblems and GOLD pinstripes.
Best part is, a little over $8k. Dealer had it on lot more than 45 days which is the required turn for inventory. I spotted it on a transporter and asked about it. It was headed for auction. Asking was originally $9900, best at auction probably $7000 so I made an offfer kind of half way and they pulled it back of the transporter.
Drove it and closed the deal...

Ok,
Before you ask....
No SC for this one, I have a Y2K Audi S4 for performance but I will do standard stuff, deckplate, cat back etc. I know gains are minimal but every little helps.
Suspension plans :
I will probably only run 32's at this time so
FRONT :
* Tacoma TRD Tokico w/TUNDRA TRD 4WD springs/Diff drop for security
and less vibration
REAR :
* OME N86 shocks and probably just a spacer for now...Downey HD springs or a softer riding OME. down the road.
And so it begins....

now I want one - good find. My dad had the same truck but silver in colour with the rear locker - it was sweet but he traded it in when his lease was up - I couldn't aford the $30,000 to buy it out

nice, looks alot like mine did (minus the bling pakage, mine doesnt have that) when i got it, mine is the exact same but a '96. you got a deal though, a 97 SR5 leather v6 4x4 with 125k ish miles went at auction locally recently for $8500. it wasnt in as nice of shape either, a few dings and dents and leather was wearing noticably.

Thanks all.
It has dings in the front bumper but I have plans for that....
The issue is really confusing on tires.
I am going with the Taco/Tundra front lift and OME rear with n86 and 890's
I think the n86 comfort and 890's will more closely match spring and damper rates of the Taco/Tundra strut.
So...
Tire options :
1. 265/75/16's on stock rims.
No issues.
2. 265/75/16's on 5 star rims (if I can get some)
Got to find these rims. Could do #1 and wait for some. I really like these rims and I had them on my 99 Sport
3. 287/75/16's on 16 x8 LC rims
Possible clearance issues and rubbing and i do NOT want a BL. Add to that the gas miles/performance issues.
4. 275/70/17's on 17" Tundra rims ....
Terra Grapplers come in a P metric in this size and Tundra rims are plentiful on eBay.
The only think I am sure of is that I will be running Terra Grapplers unless
someone decides to make a heck of a deal on Revo's.
I have been very happy with my Regular Dueller AT D693's on the now deceased 93 though and they are cheap.
