Rear leaf springs in the front?

i have a 79 4x4 pickup and i have been hearing some talk about using rear toyota leaf springs up front for lift? is this true? if so how much lift will i get?

i have heard of it before too... i am not sure if its a direct bolt in or not since i've heard it moves the axle forward about 1-2 inches.....

ouch, i m lookin for a quick and cheap way to get my 79 in the air abit until i can get enough money for a real kit, i got a set of rear springs from my 82 parts truck and was hoping they would just bolt right up and just add a bit of lift..1-2 inches in quite a bit

you have to cut of the rear shackle mounts and move them backwards
