I know how to remove the axle and brake assembly on the rear of my 4runner, but does anyone know what is involved in seperating the axle from the drum brake assembly?

I went through my manual and the online exploded diagrams but cant find a guide.

Any help would be great.

 

Hi,

You need to have it pressed to separate the two. You'll also need to a a new bearings and retainers. And if the machine shop aren't careful, a pair of ABS rotors too.
