rear axle housing question

I have looked everywhere,at any site that showed the exploded pictures, and couldn't find a good view of the baffles? that are inside the axle housing.
I changed my inner seals and must dropped the axle on it and one was leaking. I changed it again and something was in the way to replace the axle WTH?
Apparently since the previous owner and I have been in there enough to bend this thing.Or move it enough to block the axle.

I am going to the dealer to see if they have one of these, but is it necessary? Am I right in assuming it's an oil baffle of sorts?
Or am I screwed?

Thanks
Mike

You are talking about the bent sheet metal with the hole in it near the diff? If so, from what I have seen. It does not look like like it is needed in the housing at all.

"deflectors" is the official term. They keep most of the oil from pushing to one side as to not drain the gears of all the oil.
If you were running at a cant for a bit,it could let too much oil move away from the sump ,pushing it all towards the seal.
Made sense to me so I forked over the $40 to get the replacement.
Heck I need to have the bearings replaced anyway.
i have the motorcycle. It never rains in Washington.
I''l be fine till the end of the month with no truck.
