Rear axle bearing play- how much is too much?

Had some time to work on my IFS axle to prep for rear disks.
I thought maybe the rear bearings had been replaced recently but now.
One bearing was not even seated all the way down into the bearing cup:

Compared to a fully seated bearing (confirmed on 3 other axles)

My question is just how much play should there be in the rear bearings?
3 axles that appear fully seated in the bearing cup have some side to side play:

The bearing that is not seated has no play., but it will barely spin. The other 3 axles spin freely.
Am on my phone and found these two threads, one the guy replaced the bearings and still had some play. Like everyone-money is tight and I would rather not spend unnecessary cash..

Looking at the reAr axle chapter thread in the FSM it doeSn't discuss play....

I've never torn down a yota axle, but i have done others. I would say if the 3 have about the same amount, you are probably fine. If there's any way to look at the bearing and see if it still looks smooth and not pitted or scored. Or check the play on a new bearing right out of the box.

I am debating about getting one new bearing set, just that at $75-80 a kit was trying to avoid it. Might see if autozone or someone has one in stOck to look at, that is a good idea to compare one.

As far as getting one out to look at it, I would have of have it pressed out. I have seen a couple of threads where people have made a tool similar to the FSM but that is a little beyond my skills right now..this rear disk project has been ongoing for awhile so maybe I'll just suck it up and beg my wife for more $$$
