real quick question for someone who knows alignment...

i just had my 92 truck aligned and it appears i now have a noticable (to say the least) positive camber. as i just installed a number of new front suspension components (bjs, steering linkage, etc..), i had the initial camber set at about 0 (to the eye). i'm just wondering if the positive camber is correct for my truck.

also, when reassembling the front suspension, the FSM calls to 'bouce' the front end to set the LCA into place. i did this, and the front and rear camber bolts alinged perfectly to eachother (same angle). the FSM explicitly states to 'align the matchmarks and torque the bolts'. but, after taking it in, the camber bolts are at different angles, each bolt on each side is at a different angle (relative to the matchmarks on the washer). IM TOTALLY NEW TO alignment, if that wasnt apparent enough, and i would just like clarify wether this presents a problem or not.

By positive camber, do you mean the top of the tire is tilted outwards with both wheels pointing straight ahead? If so, I don't think this is correct. most modern cars/trucks have either 0 deg or 1-2 deg neg camber. Then again there are always acceptions to every rule.

 

yea, the wheels kinda make this \ / very slightly. after driving it around, the truck pulls hard to the right, so those guys did a very poor job. its amazing really. take a car in for an alignment, get both wheels pointed straight ahead and the guys cant even do that.

but anyways, any feedback on wehter the camber is good/bad, and about those camber adjusting bolts that the FSM calls to match on each side, but which these techs threw off?

 

Either take it back to that shop and have them fix the problem or try to find a better aligment shop.

 

yeah positive camber shouldnt be there.... they dont know what they are doing.....

 

took it back and got it fixed
