I have 4.5" superlift springs on the rear of my truck. I'm not getting any flex out of these springs, is there anything I can do to help this without spending alot of money? i already put sandbags and my spare tire and they still dont flex. they have four leaves with an ovlerload. any suggestions for a temporary fix? thanks

I'm planning to switch to 63" chevys as soon as i have money. in the pic my drivers rear tire is about a foot off the ground and the other side isnt even near the fender.

 

You might try removing a leaf from the spring pack and see if that helps.

 

ok, will it be alright to run only 3 leaves? i'n not too worried about breakin or bendin them but is that a strong possibility?

 

Yeah you can try removing one, I removed one of the middle ones on mine once. You can also try some graphite paint or teflon pads between the leafs. If you are cheap like me you can make your own graphite paint, I used gloss black rattle can paint and while it was wet sprinkled graphite powder all over it.

Sprinkle lots of graphite powder over the wet paint and let them dry good in the sun, then rub or sprinkle more graphite powder over them. That will keep them from sticking together. I saw afterward that 4crawler had found a special graphite paint, so that's another option.

Post some pics of your leaf pack and shackle angle, there might be some other problem.

 

Ok thanks, I will be removing one leaf tonight and will be headed out sunday to se what happens. also which would be the more ideal spring to remove one from the middle or the bottom? thanks again

 

I would remove the overload first.

What springs are you using up front? If the front is too soft, there won't be enough "leverage" to flex the rear.
