Newbie Landcruiser Questions

Hello all. Just joined up and looking to purchase my first Yota. Long time Jeep fan/offroader (please be nice..). I would just like your opinion before purchasing this truck.

It is a 1992 FJ80. 105k original owner. Bone stock. Super clean, no rust, almost mint. 8pass, Locking xfer case, cloth interior. $4000 bucks.

Is this a good year for the Cruiser? What should I look for? Common problems? Looking to use this truck as my daily driver. Maybe install a small OME lift, put some 31's on it, nothing crazy. Let me know your opinions. Thanks.

Starting in 1993, the landcruiser went to the updated inline 6 engine. It has more horsepower and torque. I believe the transmission changed to as well as the interior.

Do check out ih8mud.com, they have a sticky on FJ80's and things to look for before buying one.

Great trucks though...

Love that body style .. Im Looking into a 1993-1994 fzj80. Better more powerful engine. From what I've read the 93-94 has the bulletproof "bus" transmission.

Sounds like a pretty good deal for a Cruiser. Up here you can spend up to ~18,000 CAN to get a 4.2 Diesel FJ80 from Japan but they're usually low mileage (~60,000 miles!) and minty. Awesome all around vehicles but for that price I could get a Duramax for towing and then get a semi built 4R for trail...
