New starter relay. Amazingly easy.
So with way too much procrastinating, I finally did the relay to fix my old worn out switch problem.
I must say this is way better and easier than putting in a push button starter. I can use the key again just like before.
It took about 20 minutes total and except for putting an inline fuse is finished.

Here is the relay pigtail with jumpers that I end up cutting off.

Losing the 2 jumpers. You can see the little diode I don't need.

No more extra wires. I only need the 4

I put on some spade connectors so I could just plug into the original starter wire then another one going out to the starter.

The finished product.
Thank you 4Crawler for all your very informative input. By making the connection at the place you suggested I was able to keep my inline starter cancel switch that's hidden way up under the dash.
Total cost was $8 for the relay and pigtail. I always have wire in the tool box as well as connectors.
Nice neat fix. Not at all jerry rigged. And with the spade connections to the relay I can unplug one if I want added security.
Heck, now that I think of it, I could put in another spade connector on the same wire and totally remove a section of it and put it in my pocket or hide it somewhere. That way someone would have to bump start it to steal it.
