New Seafoam Product? Trans Tune

New Seafoam Product? Trans Tune
I stopped by a local AutoZone today and was picking up some regular Seafoam along with a few other items and came acros this....Seafoam Trans Tune. Here's what it says that it does...
--Automatic transmission and power steering tune up
--Cleans gum and varnish
--Smooths rough and erratic shifting
--Auto-transmission flush
--Power steering and rack and pinion flush
--Cleans and dries hydraulics
Directions are to add 1/2 to 1 pint to the tranny fluid when it is at operating temperature. For best results, use prior to a transmission flush or fluid and filter change. Drive at least five miles shifting into all gears. This will allow Trans Tune to clean transmission parts and valves in each area.
Anybody ever use this? I'll be getting my tranny flushed at 180k miles when I get my timing belt replaced again. Just wondering if anybody knew about this stuff because we're ALL familiar with their other additive and how great it is. Later.

TransTune has been around for a while... I've used it a couple of times with good results.
Qualifier... it's not a miracle worker. It won't fix a badly slipping tranny and isn't a substitue for a real flush. But, it has stopped my tranny from slipping when it was LIGHTLY slipping, and things generally feel like they lock up a bit quicker.

Well, I've had regular flushes and drains/refills done, so I don't have any issues with slipping right now. I was just looking at using it as more of a preventative measure than anything, just like SeaFoaming the engine. I figure I'll give it a shot right before my next transmission flush, but I am skeptical about putting an additive in the tranny fluid. Then again, I was leary at first about putting Seafoam in through the PCV hose on the engine. That turned out well. I'm sure this will as well.

I put this in my g/f's Mitsubishi tranny with 160K because it was slipping on hard acceleration and shifting wasn't crisp. I drained some of the fluid out, put 1/2 a bottle in and drove it around. No more slipping and shifting was noticeably more positive. That was a few weeks ago and no complaints so far. The plan is to leave it in for awhile and then drain the fluid and change the filter.
