Lunchbox in reverse?

With a few talking about the automatic locker/lunchbox lockers something came to mind.

When you drive with them in reverse do they stay locked or do they become open again?

The only time they unlock is when you let off the gas. Forward or reverse makes no difference, positive throttle locks the mechanism.

That's interesting. I wonder how that is accomplished. I had always thought, incorrectly, that they worked somewhat like a ratchet.

Maybe some do, the Lockright works by engaging and disengaging, and when under power, one wheel cannot power ahead of the other.

Try dumping the clutch with lots of gas. You will leave two stripes forward and reverse.
