heh, was not stuck. just teeter tottering and feeling like I was going to drop the runner on its side without weight back there. Others said the wheel was about 3 feet in the air before I had them standing on it.

Hola Tepui!

I think you guys get better built rigs than we do! They're more utilitarian and not as fru-fru. The american market turns every vehicle into a "civilized" street vehicle. That's why I keep hanging on to my 86 4runner. It was developed for durability in less than ideal conditions. I don't think the new 4Runners could survive in real austere conditions. You have to have an OBDII to do anything with it. Too much plastic.

I.e., look at your HiLux in the photo. It has the cargo tie-down hooks around the bed. 98 Taco's in don't have those! If I buy another rig, I might have to go to Chile or Argentina to buy it! Ai que lastima! Puedo regresar otra vez.

You are right about that!
I like "Function over Form" when it comes to 4x4s. But bring a Taco to South America and you'll sell it in a day, Hilux owners love them. Funny.

I found 2 pics on my computer. 1 of my 88, 1 of my 96. Both were relatively stock. No more wheel stands like that for me!

It's the same in Australia, I'd give me left nut to have a Tacoma over here!! or even a 3rd gen 4runner for that matter.
