KM2 Tread Depth

I found a used set of BFG KM2's for sale but they are about 100 miles away. I know this will probably sound like a dumb question but the guy says they have about 5/16th's of an inch of tread left on them. Is that worth the drive? He is asking $225 for all 4 and that sounds like a good price. The small pic shows fairly good tread but I thought I would toss the question out there. I would probably only need to get about 8,000 miles out of them. By then I should be out of school and have a real job... maybe.

that sounds pretty good but i would use them as a street and mild trail tire. its no fun getting stuck on stupid things like grass with bald tires...

Tread depths per size of tire are specified here

5/16ths = 10/32nds so I'd say they're a little more than half gone depending on what size they are.

Thanks scuba. Thats exactly what I was looking for. The tread depth on a new tire is 18/32nds so I guess their about half gone. It might be a moot point anyways because someone else got dibs on them first. If they fall through he said he'll call me. How many times did I hear that one in High School...
