Just wanted to give my 2 cents on BG ATC Plus for Auto Transmissions
Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you all know that I tossed a can of BG ATC Plus in my Automatic Transmission on a 3rd Gen 4Runner and had some decent success. My tranny was making a bit of a shudder when it would shift from 1st to 2nd but the BG ATC Plus definitely softened it. I'm not a mechanic and I'm sure someone can make an argument for why you shouldn't use it, but so far I like it. If anyone would like to chime in, feel free...

That's good to hear, I am getting a motor into my truck here soon and want to squeak as much life as humanly possible out of an already tired auto before I do a 5spd swap. I hope to keep it alive for a few months, although mine has a different dilemma, when I am at a complete stop in drive it vibrates pretty good. We'll see.....

addatives
As far as additives go. I have had great success with the Lucas line of products. I run all their additives on my vehicle at the same time.
engine oil additive
tranny fluid stop leak (also helps with hard shifting)
fuel conditioner. (if you live in a state that adds ethanol to their gas you need to use one of these or you'll end up replacing your fuel injectors due to cloggage.
and finally power steering fluid stop leak and renew.
I use Lucas in everything and recommend it without hesitation.

I keep hearing alot about Lucas products. They must be descent. I have always used BG44K for fuel treatments and I use the BG manual gear concentrate in the front and rear diffs, transfer case and trans. The only difference I ever noticed was in the trans. It shifts alot smoother in colder temps.

There's some interesting video showing that Lucas isn't all it's cracked up to be.
