Folks
I would like to play it safe on my timing chain, but if it ain't broke don't fix it so while we're on the topic of mileage, may I ask:
At what mileage you had your timing chain (first-gen 4Runner) replaced?
Did you have it replaced because it broke, or had signs of damage?

This will give us idea of when to open it up, yet not prematurely mess (Painful Maintenance) with it.

TIA.
22re is load, but still passes smog, and gets me around. Driving up hills on the Freeway stinks, I want a 7mge.

I will remote turbo this 22re, for an experiment before I do the swap to a 7mge, which will also be remote turbo-ed.

Sounds weird to me. Id start with the simplest things first like checking your afm and tps first. Check your fuel pressure regulator too. When was the last time your fuel filter was replaced? I'm just taking stabs at it but I'd start with those things first.

By the way, toyota didn't make the tacoma until 95. Your 92 is a pickup.

No problem. PM me and let me know what you find.

Thanks Discombobulated. I'll keep better tabs on myself for that as well.

I'd help you, but I've never heard of a 1992 Tacoma. Also, this is not the thread to be asking questions like that. Try asking around here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f120/ or use our brand new search feature: https://www.yotatech.com/search.php. Some advice: Work on your grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure before posting a comment or new thread. Sorry to be a Nazi about it, but it's difficult to help others when you can't understand what they're asking or if their in the wrong area. Welcome to Yotatech, brother!

Oh, and I rolled over to 183,000 about a week ago.

Dude, MY pleasure, 100%!

Reads as though you've put your time/money into that thing! lol. BTW, what bumper is that? TG, Addicted? Sometimes, when not BLACK/BLACK, ... they look thicker, ...make sense? lol. Anyway, curious.

Seriously.... I was DROOLING and stuck on that pic for a few minutes! lol.

PS> Hows that 370z?

Front bumper = 4xinnovations
Rear bumper = AllPro Off Road

Thanks again, nice when someone can tell all the time and effort that went into it!

Oh, the Z is mainly the wife's fair weather ride, but it is a blast!

Just put a brand new Tyrone build thread in the Classic forum at t4r.org if you ever want to see his evolution.

Sorry guys, back on topic!
