How long will 22R & RE engines and other parts on Toyota pickups last.
I am curious how many miles 22R & RE engines typically run and what typically,or I can expect to happen to one of these engines at "X" amount of miles.I am concerned about truck breaking down on a long trip and I am curious about what parts I should replace or keep an eye on.I would also like to hear the same about the rest of the truck, such as axles, steering etc.

The factory manual tells you what needs to be done at xxxxx miles, if everything is done when it needs to be they will last a long time. Granted things happen each motor is different in some way or another. There is no way to tell you exactly what will go and when it will go, depends on parts used maintenance, driving habits etc etc etc etc etc and some more of etc. I know that on my truck which has nothing to do with the next or the next, the timing chain broke at 115k and the PO tried to push start which bent all the valves I believe.
Search a little more and most questions pertaining to broken down rigs usually gives mileage and such.
But really there is no good answer I can give you

If you take two of the same vehicles
The first you do no service work at all.
Every day you have it submerged in saltwater to just below the the air intake for a hour.
The second you have a crew that follows you around and checks every thing when you stop for more then 10 minutes.
Most vehicles fall some place in between as do the habits of most people
How the vehicle and where it is used plays a big part.
There are no hard and fast numbers that you can apply .
Mechanical things are going to wear out.
One does what one can service the fluids when due or as needed change belts and hoses .
You need to draw the line someplace or like some people have a never ending payment take a big loss and trade in your vehicle every year.
Bottom line if your luck is anything like mine It will break down on the way to your first date with the hottest women(?) you can think of with your phone at home on the counter.
