You can try to take the Yota out of the fight, but you can't take the fight out of the Yota!

She will live on.. In one way or another.

Ouch.

Rock sliders would've helped in this situation.

I will definitely be considering armor for my truck whenever I get to moving the pieces. We shall see!

Thanks for the help guys.. Always appreciate a community effort.

Quick question.. I've been searching for trucks to swap bodies, and I've found both 2wd and 4wd trucks in adequate condition. Which should I gravitate towards? Will either be more or less work intensive to swap, and will either be more or less economically viable, in buying, parting, etc?

I'm just trying to get my other foot in the door, here.

either version should technically work - all the sheet metal is universal, it's the frames that are slightly different. body mounts should be in the same spots too. either way, moving a body mount isn't that hard if you have the tools.

rock sliders definitely would have helped in this situation. armor is cheap insurance for these types of things.
if this happened to my truck, i'd probably end up making a custom 4door like this guy did with a 4runner cab + the back of a truck cab:
custom double cab

sooo sick!

Sometimes the transmission tunnel is a bit different (besides the obvious 2nd hole for t/c lever) between 2wd (lowe)and 4wd.

You've got me thinking, man!! Don't know if that's good or bad

Ive often considered making the truck into a double cab/shorter bed Frankenstein. Maybe this is my opportunity.

man, that sucks, its a hard call too. dont let anyone fool you, a cab swap is a whole lot of work even if everything goes well. id probably total it and find another one before theyre all gone!!!! seriously, that sucks and good luck with your decision.
