There's nothing wrong with fords. so generally making this a thread to trash talk fords just makes everybody look retarded. I own a 67 mustang and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Granted, my 3.0 v6 had more problems.

But anyway, no. toyotas are not rebadged fords. your aunt is on some serious gummy bears.

i agree mak. im not trying to trash fords or gm etc. my original point was to get the facts and trying to figure out what in the world she was talking about. along the way i learned some things about ford gm and toyota. the nummi plant article was very interesting that i found and down right scarry to think that many drunk and high people were building cars and it was permitted... so i guess thats one check in the bad column for GM. but i agree that in no way are toyotas rebadged fords. i mean think about it... the philosophy of building trucks are at the opposite ends of the spectrum. Ford believes in big v8 motors with small axle gears to build their trucks around. which has equaled a good product for many years. (they have been the #1 seller for 20 plus years) meanwhile Toyota has based its truck around 4cyl motors with big gears to build their trucks around. Both have advantages and both have disadvantages. But they are clearly 2 very different building philosophies.

This thread makes me LOL

I've talked to so many people like this putting down Toyota, making up this kind of shenanigans to justify there own bad decisions in buying a different brand.

A truer statement has never been said....starting to trash the "Ford" brand shows the lack of brain power of some of the previous posters in this thread. Say what you like about FoMoCo, but they, unlike GM or Chrysler, did not need to take taxpayers dollars. Before I bought my current truck, a 1996 F250 w/351 v8, I had a Chevy 1500 years ago. I bought that Ford brand new in September 1995 off the lot with a Meyer plow set up on it. Since then, it's essentially a F350 now because it has a Dana 60 KP front axle and HD rear springs with 4" lift blocks like the 350's have. It's geared low with 4.11's so it plows snow like mad....it's got me through some 24+ hour shifts in it during some wicked Buffalo winters. I would have liked a diesel under the hood but the Windsor did just fine.

My point is this....the FixOrRepairDaily trash talk gets old. That truck never failed me during a plowing season but I maintained it and she had some aftermarket support with the extra coolers and filters I put on. I got 91k miles out of the stock E4OD before we put a aftermarket tranny in it. So yea...I take it personally. As anyone who knows something about full size work trucks, Ford makes some good trucks. I'm done preaching to the choir, guys. Thanks for tuning in.....

And yea, I love the Yotas too......

She should lay off that wacky tobaccy. From '93 until 2005 or 2006, the Mazda B-Series pickups were just re-badged Ford Rangers. Same thing with the Mazda Tribute. They were just rebadged Ford Escapes. The Navajo was the same as the Explorer. The Protege was the same as the Escort...yadda yadda yadda...

Show her some pics of the Mazdas vs. the Fords.

the new Chevy Colorado looks very similar to the new tacos.
ford and Mazda are also close with the bodys of some trucks same as the old Honda passport and Isuzu rodeo. VW and Audi same body's different engines and drive train.

in Europe VW made a toyota truck in their plant.

your aunt is confused.

Ya if you count the number of wheels it has

But seriously the body styles are kinda close. But those colorados are lame spring under axle C-channel frame non mpg getting domestic pieces of garbage. And their 4wd's have no ground clearance.

But the tacos keep getting bigger and the s10/colorado is staying the same.

The new taco is as big as the first gen tundras. And the new tundras are bigger then F-250, crew cab long beds. I don't remember voting make it bigger. But I do remember voting give it more motor. They must think those go hand in hand. How about a 2001 tacoma with a 5.7. ))) Nooope, got to add 2000lbs and 7 feet in each direction to make that happen. Ok I'm done thanx for listing.

The only similarities between the Colorado and the Tacoma are those stupid slanted wheel wells and their rims.

Ya thats really about it, other then their both pickup trucks.

More I think about it the crazier i think this lady is. Theres nothing about this anywhere. Its all about ford and mazda which everybody already knows. Just plain delusional.

Ask her why toyotas last so much longer then. Not many ford rangers with over 300K on them.
