Have to move truck w/Engine out and Trans in?
So it's hurricane season, and I still have my truck out on the street in front of the house. I had planned on having it back in and running by now, but, we all know how that/life goes. So I have the engine out, left the trans in. It is propped up on blocks right now. If one of these storms come our way, I will need to have it moved into my driveway (it's grass, reason I've been working in the street). If I strap the trans well to the frame, will it be ok to tow around? Anything specific with gears / 4x4? Really wasn't looking forward to this but here we are. My house got flooded from the street flooding last year, so if it comes it will have to be moved one way or another, or I just go ahead and add it to insurance.
Thanks!
Thanks!

If you strap it up good and put the transmission in neutral, you should be able to move it around short distances at low speeds.
Wouldn't hurt to put the transfer case in neutral as well.

That's pretty much what I'm looking for. Might take a bit to get it line up, but shouldn't be more than a total of 200 ft. I suppose I'll figure some layout of plywood sheets when I go to putting it back in.
If anyone else has had any similar experiences and has some knowledge on it, please drop it my way.

I think you're over thinking it. Ratchet strap the front of the transmission to the frame, put the transmission in neutral, and push it around wherever you want. I wouldn't worry about getting the engine back in. As long as you can line up the transmission input shaft with the pilot bearing and get the back of the engine and bell housing parallel you'll be fine. Always takes some wiggling and cussing but it's never too bad.
