I have 2005 Runner w/ V8. It is has 25K miles and will be 3 years next month. The dealer wants $460 for a 30k mile check up for from what I could tell an LOF and some inspections.

Regardless what maintenance, other than an LOF, do I need to do at this stage?

I just did an LOF, New Tires, and New Front Brake Pads. CHECK BRAKE FLUID (HAVE MECHANIC TEST IT)
Do I need the following:

* Spark Plugs - NO 120,000 miles

* Trannie Fluid - NO - 100,00 miles

* The manual lists "Lubricate Propeller Shaft" - wouldn't that get done during a normal greese job? - IF YOU ASK

* Retorque drive shaft - SAME AS ABOVE

* The manual also calls for cleaning the injectors. What exactly can be done for cleaning injectors other than putting in fuel additive? - BG 44K (Injector Cleaner Only - DIY!)

* My understanding is that the Coolant is good for at least 50k miles. Is that accurate? - NO - LONGER - 100k miles!

* How about the differential fluid? - JUST INSPECT IT FOR LEAKS

Also, the warranty is about to expire. I am assuming that if something was wrong I would know about it. I mean, the dash board computer would alert me if ANY code was triggered, right? Or, is it worth hooking it up to check the test codes prior to the expiration of the warranty? - NO, BESIDES YOU HAVE 5/60 on the POWER TRANE

I appreciate the help. I'd like to narrow done the list to the bare essentials and then have a mechanic other than the dealer do it for me.

AS YOU CAN SEE I ANSWERED SOME OF MY OWN QUESTIONS YESTERDAY....BUT I HAVE SOME NEW ONES...

WHAT IS THE LIFE ON THE BATTERY?

IS THERE A RECOMMEND INTERVAL FOR CHANING THE HOSES (IE BEFORE THEY BURST ON THEIR OWN)?
