Engine swap question
Ive got a question for your gurus. I have an 1985 toyota pickup 4x4 and my engine grenaded. I have a low mileage 1989 FI 22R-E engine and my question is can I replace the 22R thats in my truck with the 22R-E. Will the carborated intake bolt up to the FI head and will the exhaust bolt up. Im aware of the fuel pump block off and cam eccentric that would need to be removed/added is there anything else of concern. Thanks guys in advance.

yep it will all bolt RIGHT UP!!!!!
although it would be a WISE decision to just use all of the EFI stuff..you get that extra hp (like 10 or 15 hp) and better gas mileage..
but if you want to get it done fast (if its your daily driver) then just swap the intakes...it will all bolt up just fine! as far as i know the only difference between the '85 and '86--> blocks is the later blocks are 2mm shorter i believe..
