Smile ECT Transmission Problem

Hello Yotatech.... Happy New Year!

I have a 2002 LC with an A343F ECT Transmission. The ECT system is inop. With the ECT button pushed the dash light comes on but there are no shift point changes. This is my second Toyo with this trans so am familiar with the ECT shifting. I have checked for codes on the OBD1 but none come up. Does anyone have any ideas on this as to where to look?

Thank you

Not entirely familiar with the 2002. You need to find your wiring diagram and verify the signal is reaching the computer. On the earlier systems it simple switches an ect pin between ground/open, the indicator light can change and the signal not be connecting to the computer.

No luck there. I have the wiring diagram and there is power at the ECU with the ECT power switch in. Could it be solenoids or would that come up as an OBD error code?
