I keep my 31 inside bungeed to the rollbar, but its really taking up alot of space. I don't want to put it back underneath for departure angle, and I don't want to let it sit under there and dry-rot. Not to mention, I can't get it clean under the truck and I don't want my rim to rust or get scraped on a rock or somethin. I'm out of ideas, I don't have a roof rack, or a rear carrier, besides with the rear carrier it would be in the way of my rear vision. I don't really go anywhere, I think I'm gonna put it in the shed today.

As of right now I dont have one. It is a 28" all terrain tire, so i dont think it would do much good.

Someone should look into the rear tire carrier hatch for the JDM Surfs. I would be all over that...

This is why I love having a bed, when I go wheeling I just strap it into my bed. At least mine is fullsized tire, maybe a a steel rim but its fullsized.

My 92 has 35's, hard to carry a spare all the time. I have a saftey seal kit and onboard air that sufices for everything but long trips. I have a fullsize spare I carry on long trip, but even when wheeling it gets left in camp... I buy more expensive tires for a reason.

I have one of these:http://www.4x4wire.com/tech/portable_oba/p2.gif
and one of these: http://www.blackjacktirerepair.com/product.asp?pid=177

So right now I do not have a spare, but I'll get a spare tire carrier soon, old one was rusted.

I keep a full size spare underneath, a can of that fix a flat crud, and I work for BCAA (AAA)...so hopefully I'm good to go. You'd be suprised how many people don't carry spares on long trips etc... This last July I had a call from a guy who was going on a big camping trip with his family and had a flat. He was on the highway in the middle of nowhere, I asked him if he had a spare and he told me he'd taken it out so he could fit more camping gear in his van. The tire was in his garage 5 hours away. He ended up having to wait 2 hours for the nearest tow truck. Needless to say he felt like a pretty big dumbass. :pat:

i agrree a spare is necesary. And a if your run 2 different size tires youll be lucky if you make it very far without breaking diffs. As for spares keep mine in the back of my runner. In a first gen ther is quite a bit of room and with a bungy to the roll cage up to a 35 will stand up quite nicely. Alot of the times on the trail if you get a flat most everyone i know would donate their spare to help someoen get out back to civilization.

I would donate my spare to someone on the trail.....but not before I gave them a bunch of crap for not having a spare.

That being said, I still need to get a 35" spare.

I feel naked without having a spare truck at home, I certainly wouldn't leave home without a full size spare tire.

I really hate having a tire underneath, and I don't like taking up space on the roof or in the back.

I'm swapping out the bumpers on my trucks for these from Big Country Customs.

Ironically I saw one on a Texas truck before I realized there were made here at home.

i drove with out my spare for a day, felt like the rear had NO traction. felt really wishywashy in the corners, etc.

im keeping my stock size spare for now, as the cost of another tire is just too much for me to eat right now... but i will at some point buy a full size.
