Does anyone know what kind of adhesive is used to hold the service hole cover onto the door? and does Toyota even sell it? I got 2 new covers for each door thinking the adhesive would be on them already, but no.

I can't think of the name of it right now... but it is a black tar/rubber looking stuff. I got the parts guy at my local dealership to give me a few strips of it to use. It makes stuff stick to metal, but you can still pull it up pretty easy. I hope that helps. I got some in my shop, but no names on it or anything. It is the same stuff that is the seal around the gas tank access panel under the rear passenger seat.

 

Yep, thats the stuff. I'll head back to the dealer and see what they can find for me.
