dieselproducts.com winter starting products
i found this while looking for a battery heater for my e450 box truck (if toyota made a box truck i would own one.) It hit about 5 degrees in chicago today and i could not get my truck started. It has been parked and started only in the warehouse ( kept at 33 degrees) and i never had to use the block heater until today.
i found this link for parts for my box truck and began to think about putting them on my 4runner too.
i cannot see y i could not get a factory block heater, and augment that with a battery and oil pan heater.
does anyone have any other sources for hard winter starting parts?

do a google search for "tanis heater" or try teh same thing at www.aircraftspruce.com they (tanis) make heating pads for use on aircraft there are smaller ones that stick on that are used on the oil pans and so on and they have larger ones you can stick to the floor under the carpet to pre heat the cab... they work very well and actually don't draw that much power wattage wise...
