Blown ifs power steering boxes
So in the last couple months I've been through 3 different boxes. I'm not completely sure where its coming from but it seems to me that its from the top cover that has one center nut with a stud in the the middle (slot in center) and four bolts which holds it down. Is it possible to come from there and could i just remove it, clean it and put some rtv on it? Or is a internal seal that allows it to leak up and out from there? Im sick of paying from 50-100$ for these damn boxes and a few hours of swapping them. Very frustrating. I believe its from my pump because a little after doing my sas the pump began to squeal so i believe it could be the cause. Thats when i dirt began blowing the boxes? I'm not positive on anything but really need your guys help!!! Please and thank you.

Have you checked your pump pressure??
Then I take it your put used boxes on??
Which are about the same age as yours most likely sitting unused for years seals dry out start leaking.
Well you have all those that leak pull one apart get new seals put them in .
Remember that the surface of the shafts the seals ride on must be clean and smooth.
Things do wear out
