Exclamation Auto Spray Paint Body Repair

Before i bought my Addicted Offroad Bumper i had a brush guard on the front of my 3rd gen 4runner.

Well the brush guard rubbed the side of my fender some and took some paint off down to what looks to be primer or bare metal.

I cannot afford to pay a body shop to spray the fender. Im in college and just want to keep it running. Plus any extra money i would rather spend on an aussie or something.

The afflicted area is about maybe half an inch wide or so and about an inch and a half long. Right behind my corner lights.

Its a 99 4runner
The paint is Natural White
Will white be more forgiving in terms of blending and color matching?

My idea was to

1. Tape off the area
2. Lightly sand and try to blend it some how (possibly even a primer)
3. Then shoot it with duplicolor or most likely a higher quality touch up spray paint!

It does not have to be perfect but maybe a close match?

I thought this method would look better than a duplicolor brush on touch up.

All of the recent paint threads make me think i could pull off some decent results.

Anything you guys can think of that would work better?
Any First hand experience?
