99 tacoma 3.4 V 6

I replaced water pump and timing belt. I turned crank until notch was on O mark made sure timing notches lined up on both cam gears with the #3 timing cover behind. When I tried to start engine it runs for 5 to 8 seconds then sputters out. I'm sure I lined all correctly. There are yellow paint marks on cam gears and timing cover. Should I line these up instead of notches!

Do you have every thing back together ??

Forget to plug something in MAF sensor ??

If your timing was off it most likely would not start at all
