Well actually, I kind of get it... I mean its not the highest demand mag so I'm sure they have to adjust there printing numbers when people subscribe.. I just wish someone could say "hey your not getting your first issue untill.... January. Go ahead and buy the next two at your own leisure.. lol.

I hear ya, but it's been like that for every magazine I have ever subscribed to. I understand your frustration though, I set up automatic payments so I never go without.

Finally got my first issue, and my kids subscribed on Father's Day. It was worth the wait though. I couldn't put it down.

Very thin magazine, and not particularly interesting. If it ever improves, it could have potential...

I'll try to explain it the way Dave Z (the publisher) explained it to me. If I am off a bit, please forgive me.

The mag comes out every 2 mos. and everything, mag content and how many issues to print, is finalized at minimum one month before the release date and often 1-1/2 months before.

The subscriber mailing list is who gets shipped a mag and to what address. It is sent out to the printers at the same time the newest mag is completed.... again, minimum 1 month before the release date, sometimes earlier.

So for the upcoming Nov/Dec issue, it has closed and is headed for processing. The subscriber mailing list has also been sent out. If you had a new subscription or a renewal in before it was sent, you would be on the Subscriber mailing list and would see the Nov/Dec issue the first week of November (depending on where you live etc.).

If you subscribe or renew next week, it unfortunately will be too late to get on the subscriber mailing list for the newest issue and you will end up having to wait for the Jan/Feb issue. It sucks, but it is the way it has to be done, especially in this economy.

Please realize that the reason 4WDTO doesn't feel like a big corporate mag is because it isn't. We're all freelancers (and Toyota enthusiasts) that work hard to bring you the best mag we can produce.
