22R choke problem, where to buy the spring??
The choke spring finally broke on my carb. It's inside the choke housing, it's the circular spring that makes the connection between the bimetal coil and the linkage to the butterfly. Without this spring the choke doesn't get activated.
I have two spare old carbs sitting around here. One has a broken spring too, and the other is worn so thin it's ready to break.
Where can I buy a new one of these springs? The dealership will only sell the whole carb. Is there a magical part number that they don't easily find?

I think it's the same for all 22R carbs. The choke mechanism looks identical on the three I have. I know one of them is an '82, another is an '87. Dunno about the third.
Two of these carbs had three rivets I had to drill off to get into the choke mechanism. The third had screws.
I wonder if some carb rebuild kits could come with this spring, since it seems to wear. The last carb kit I used was a niehoff kit, and came with the gasket for the choke housing. But no internal components such as this spring.
Hopefully your fiche has a part number. Thanks for trying!
