22-RE problems

First i do regular matenence with my truck, the previous owner not so much.

Recently i did the sea foam treatment in the gas, oil and in the intake.

a week before i changed the oil added the sea foam, the oil was at the full line on th dip stick, when i changed the oil it was the darkest shade of black i have ever seen come from an engine and smelled like burnt matches. Heres the mystery only a quart and a half of oil came out, it was full 7 days prior. i cant find a leak any where and the engine is not smoking like it's burning any.

When i put new oil in and drove it around for a while the engine started to make a really loud grinding noise in the bottom end and some times it sounds like draggin your nails on a chalk board

there is 185k miles on the engine

Id never pour that crap in my runner. If your truck is running bad...snake oil will not fix it. Granted it may clean some carbon out...etc...but I find most people use it to try and fix something that should be taken apart and fixed.

Id bet you smoked your bearings with the stuff.

Sounds like bearings to me too. I think the Seafoam is probably better for keeping an engine clean rather than cleaning a filthy one. When it gets in there and breaks up all that gunk, the gunk can now get into places it couldn't since it's now being pumped and flung around with the rest of the oil instead of just being stuck somewhere in the block, and that could foul everything up; bearings, rings, cams, pretty much any moving part. So yeah, a tired dirty old motor should really just be rebuilt.
