2002 Tundra 4.7L
Well... I'm close to getting a new truck. We've got an 02 Tundra on the lot at work right now that I can get for $10,500. Its a 4WD extended cab 4.7 V8 auto SR5. Its in pretty decent shape with 82k miles and a clean carfax report.
So, I wanna know the good/bad/ugly about these trucks. Do they carry the same quality and durability/dependability of the older Toyota trucks? I always said I'd never get a Tundra, but this ones kinda growing on me. What do you guys think?

The bad:The 4.7 tundra engine is an interfearance motor ie. keep up on the timing belt when it needs changing.
The good: Timing belt easy to change compared to the 5VZ-FE. Decent mileage for the power it puts out, there is a ton of them out there, thank the new (3rd gen) Tundra for coming out, prices on 1st gens are affordable now and oh yeah its a TOYOTA!!! Go for it!!

I just posted on this. Brakes are an issue on early model Tundra given the rotors warp easily and pads go quick. Nothing an upgrade won't fix. I've never had any issues with with the motor othen than being heavy on the pedal. You'll love the power.
