2 or 4 brake pedals
I was out hiking today and I started thinking :
If you had a truck and you put in say.. 3 brake pedals. 1 for the front, 2 for the rear, one on each side. All three would be bindable so you could press all three at once, or, unbinded you could be selective about which wheels get brakes.
Can you see any advantages to this? You could make a semi locked differential with something like this.. one of your rear tires is up in the air and the other is on the ground firmly, unbind the brake pedals and use the pedal for the one in the air to lock it tight, then hit the gas and the other would get you moving, hopefully, if you didn't snap an axle instead.
They wouldn't necessarily have to be pedals either, you could figure out some other system like a set of ratcheting hand brakes in between driver and pax.
Just a theory but I wanted to see if anyone else had any opinions, thoughts, additions.. yada yada

Lots of comp crawlers have what are called "cutting brakes" which are a lever that alllow either the front or rear brakes to be applied independently. The brake pedal still works all 4 wheels IIRC

when I was wheeling my subaru, I had dual handbrakes. the old subarus have front handbrake, and no lockers available. but both handbrake cables come up into the cabin, right to the lever. so I just mounted a second lever, and attached one cable to each lever. that way if I was spinning a front wheel, I could apply some brake pressure to just that wheel. it worked awesome!
sure was better than welding up the rear and removing a rear axle every time I went on road.
