1981 pickup heater core replacement

Finally got to the heater core. She leaked for about a year. It wasn’t too fun getting it out. I’m looking for the foam to replace what was damaged over the years. Any suggestions?

This is the foam insulation I’m going to try for the core and flapper doors. Hopefully it works. If anyone has a better idea...I’m open to any suggestions. Thanks!

Middle of the same issue

For the flapper doors I am using an old wet suit and making cutouts to cover the door surface.

as far as my hold up, is trying to find a way to clip the two flanges together. The aluminum is thicker and I can’t get a clip to fit or find a v-groved clamp small enough. Any ideas?
